Cooking oil is a precious commodity in Kenya and Tanzania. Because most of the cooking oil is imported, women try and save money by using the oil from coconuts. In order to help these women in Africa and assist them in creating a source of income for their families, team Tropical Pressure created the Coconut Oil Hand Press.
This hand press and drying oven will cost less than $350 (US). It will provide employment for 5 women and will be able to produce 10-12 litres per day of coconut oil. This press will help many families in Africa on their way to becoming self-sufficient.
